Sustainability has been integral to Putrajaya’s development for over 30 years. Guided by a master planning philosophy that emphasises harmony between people, nature, and creator, the city continues to evolve through a connected network of wetlands, green spaces, and supporting infrastructure. Today, nearly 40% of Putrajaya is gazetted as wetlands and green areas. Its natural assets play an important role in supporting biodiversity, enhancing water management and strengthening environmental resilience, while contributing to the quality of life of its communities. These elements underpin a sustainable urban environment that is designed to support long-term growth for generations.
